Waveform analysis of shank loaded wearable resistance during sprint running acceleration

نویسندگان

چکیده

Lower-limb wearable resistance (WR) provides a specific and targeted overload to the musculature involved in sprint running, however, it is unknown if greater impact forces occur with additional limb mass. This study compared contact times ground reaction force waveforms between running no load 2% body mass (BM) shank-positioned WR over 30 m. Fifteen male university-level specialists completed two maximum effort sprints each condition randomized order. Sprint shank resulted trivial changes at 5 m, 10 20 m (effect size [ES] = <0.20, p > 0.05) small, significant increase time by 1.94% (ES 0.25, 0.03). Significant differences unloaded loaded were limited anterior-posterior direction occurred 20% 30% of Shank did not result magnitudes horizontal or vertical during initial portion contact. Practitioners can prescribe training loads ≤2% BM without concern for increased risk injurious forces.

Interaction of step length and step rate during sprint running.

UNLABELLED A "negative interaction" between step length and step rate refers to an increase in one factor resulting in a decrease in the other. PURPOSES There were three main purposes: a) to investigate the relative influence of the determinants of step length and step rate, b) to determine the sources of negative interaction between step length and step rate, and c) to investigate the effect...

Timestep Acceleration of Waveform Relaxation

Dynamic iteration methods for treating linear systems of diierential equations are considered. It is shown that the discretized Picard-Lindell of (waveform relaxation) iteration can be accelerated by solving the defect equations with a larger timestep, or by using a recursive procedure based on a succession of increasing timesteps. A discussion of convergence is presented, including analysis of...

Relationships between ground reaction force impulse and kinematics of sprint-running acceleration.

The literature contains some hypotheses regarding the most favorable ground reaction force (GRF) for sprint running and how it might be achieved. This study tested the relevance of these hypotheses to the acceleration phase of a sprint, using GRF impulse as the GRF variable of interest. Thirty-six athletes performed maximal-effort sprints from which video and GRF data were collected at the 16-m...

Gait analysis using gravitational acceleration measured by wearable sensors.

A novel method for measuring human gait posture using wearable sensor units is proposed. The sensor units consist of a tri-axial acceleration sensor and three gyro sensors aligned on three axes. The acceleration and angular velocity during walking were measured with seven sensor units worn on the abdomen and the lower limb segments (both thighs, shanks and feet). The three-dimensional positions...

Krylov Subspace Acceleration of Waveform Relaxation

In this paper we describe and analyze Krylov subspace techniques for accelerating the convergence of waveform relaxation for solving time dependent problems. A new class of accelerated waveform methods, convolution Krylov subspace methods, is presented. In particular, we give convolution variants of the conjugate gradient algorithm and two convolution variants of the GMRES algorithm and analyze...
